If you belong to a political organization or civic group that wants to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States, then we ask you to take the following Resolution against the Senate Blue Slip to your group and encourage them to pass this Resolution as an important, and even essential, step towards honoring our most precious Constitution:
Whereas the Senate Blue Slip Policy is an unwritten and illegal policy of the US Senate which allows any single Senator to block the nomination of any Presidential nominee for federal office from being considered under the Senate “Advice and Consent” process, and;
Whereas in 2025, for the first time in the history of the United States, the Senate Blue Slip Policy was used to block the appointment of 40 US Attorneys in 44 federal districts which had the misfortune of having a Senator associated with the Democrat Party, and;
Whereas the Senate Blue Slip Policy is a clear violation of Article II, Section II of the US Constitution which states that federal officers, including all US Attorneys, SHALL be nominated by the President and SHALL be confirmed with the “Advice and Consent” of the Senate and
Whereas the word SHALL means that the nomination and appointment of all US Attorneys is a mandatory duty of both the President and the Senate, and
Whereas the word “Senate” means a vote of the majority of the members of the Senate and does not mean that any single Senator can block the Advice and Consent process, and
Whereas it is up to We, the People, to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution which is the foundation of both our Republic and our Civil Rights and;
Whereas this unconstitutional Policy will only be ended when we ask Americans demand that it be ended, and
Whereas we intend to encourage our members to contact their Senators and the President, demanding an end to this illegal and abhorrent abuse of Power...
Therefore, our organization, named below, hereby approves of this Resolution opposing the Senate Blue Slip Policy.
